Spring Break 2017: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

H E A V E N on Earth!

We spent the day exploring nature’s astounding beauty, on a scenic yacht cruise along Puerto Vallarta’s coastline, with views of untouched jungle, majestic mountains, and gorgeous mansions along the bay.

Music, sunshine, crystal blue waters, and a yacht. What more could a girl ask for?

Our morning started off bright and early, as we boarded our yacht with mimosas in hand, ready to start our next adventure.

Our first stop was at Los Arcos, a beautiful location surrounded by fishermen boats, perfect for snorkeling and swimming.

Little did I know how seasick I would become on the departure from Los Arcos to Majahuitas beach.

It seemed like forever between the two locations, and once we F I N A L L Y arrived, we were told there were too many jellyfish to get out to snorkel and swim. Definitely the very last thing someone who is seasick wants to hear, even longer on the boat!

Now you’re probably thinking, I look far from seasick and miserable in these photos. So it’s either that I have a great poker face, or these photos were taken (mostly) before, and some long after my wave of seasickness had come and gone. Let’s go with the latter!

After going along the coast a bit further to find a beach clear of jellyfish, the crew decided to seek out an alternative – even better than we could have ever imagined… swimming with a sea lion named R E X !

The crew felt horrible that I was feeling so sick, so they encouraged me to be the first off the boat and in the water – which made me feel a thousand times better, or perhaps it was Rex that cured me!?

This was one of the most fun, hilarious experiences I have ever had in my life and I was so happy to share it with my best friends by my side.

However… just my L U C K !

While swimming back to the boat, in a group of 10+ people might I add, I was stung by a jellyfish. Seasick and a jellyfish sting, what more could a girl ask for!?

Thankfully at this point, I had made my mind up to make the best of this day – regardless of what had happened or was going to happen.

We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming, paddle boarding, and floating on this lily pad (see above photos). It was an adventure, for sure, to say the least… and I would          A B S O L U T E L Y do it all over again, but maybe next time with some dramamine in my system.
